Taipei Botanical Gardens are over 100 years old and have a history that stretches back to the colonial Japanese era. The gardens are a wonderful place to walk around and enjoy the amazing variety of plants and flowers that are grown there.
Some of the highlights include the stunning lotus pond, the senses garden which offers the chance to smell the fragrances of each of the plants, and the Chinese zodiac plants each has been assigned to one of the animals of the zodiac based on that animal’s characteristics.
This is also a great spot for bird watching check in the information center for more details. Guided tours are available, but not really needed. Don’t forget to bring mosquito spray!
