Fisherman’s Wharf

The wharf is another place in Danshui that has benefited greatly from a makeover in recent years, and is now a great place to relax, fish, eat, stroll or take a boat ride around the coastline.

Boat trips should cost around $250NT for an hour trip that will take you up the coast. Be careful when buying tickets, and only buy them directly from the company running the trip.

The pedestrian bridge spanning the harbor is known as Lover’s Bridge because it was opened on Valentine’s Day in 2006. At sunset, the bridge is lined with young (and old!) couples. Maybe it seems a bit cheesy, but the views (and romance!) at sunset are unbeatable.

You can take a ferry from here back to Danshui Old Street or across the river to Bali. Tickets should cost $50NT for either journey.
