Often passed over by tourists on their way to the more famous Yeliu, Heping Island is a geologist’s dream scape of strange rock formations. One of the small park’s most admirable aspects is that it is relatively tourist free, allowing for unimpeded exploration of all the nooks and crannies.
It is almost completely undeveloped, save a walkway and a pagoda or two, so be sure to bring your own water and lunch if you plan to stay for a while. You can take bus #101 from just outside the train station to get here.
