This pretty little forest park is located at the top of the North Cross Island highway and makes a good spot for an overnight stay if you are making the trip over the highway.
The park itself is small, but the forest is really attractive on nice days, and quite creepy when the afternoon mist creeps in as it often does. There isn’t a lot to do here, but it is a good base and a good escape from the intense summer heat of the plains.
The rooms are good, particularly the quaint wooden cabins, even if they are a little expensive. Return transport from Taipei for 2 can be arranged when booking a room for $1200NT. Trips can also be organised here to visit the nearby Giant Trees Park.
